Not really sure about the details, but after 20 years, a friend from highschool and I reconnected
through social media. We ended up having some personal conversations about some of the up’s and downs in our lives. We both had gone through divorce, financial struggles and both had experienced an unsettling feeling within the increasing confounds of the corporate workplace.
These conversations started to become more in-depth which I am so GRATEFUL to experience. I once told her: “Without the risk of sounding too weird, you are the one person who really gets me”. She was receptive, “Not weird at all, we’re just both at the same level of frequency”. So, now when I visit my family on Holidays, the two of us often squeeze in a coffee and great talk. She said that our visits are like a recharge, very REJUVENATING.
I found her story to be quite honourable when she told me about taking a leap of faith, to quit her job at a large healthcare facility. Which of course, was amazing for her to be there in the first place, it took a lot of hard work, and most people would be at the top of their mountain. But my dear friend had the courage to listen deep within to that place and the pathways that were calling her. People spoke behind her back “Who does she think she is? Do you think I would be at MY workplace if I didn’t have to be? She’s LUCKY that she has the FREEDOM to do whatever she FEELS”. But those people aren’t really expressing opinions about my friend, they are actually reflecting on themselves and their own hidden desires. They are not at their own highest level of good and they don’t believe that THEY have such COURAGE.
My friend is far from “Lucky” and she has hit a lot of road blocks along the way; yet, she deeply feels that her path is where she is supposed to be and unlike in the corporate corner, fighting stress and anxiety with no Energy, she is in her Universe’s classroom, and it’s not a fight. But rather a Mentor that is guiding and reading from a “Choose Your Own Adventure” novel.
Every decision will lead to something but none of it is bad or wrong… there are just some choices that are more inline with our highest potential than others. The key is to always be learning and growing at the pace we feel comfortable with. And to not be afraid to get back inline after our off-road adventures and detours.
Anyway, my friend is happy and successful. Who knows, she may or may not have an abundance of money, but that’s not what she wants or needs… success has the definition that we attribute to it. She has recommended some of her favourite books and movies to me “Universe Has Your Back”, Gabrielle Bernstein, “You Are A Badass”, Jen Sincero and the movie “Eddie The Eagle”.
I loved all three of these recommendations! At our most recent visit, I told my friend all about my own adventure of starting my own business. She’s allowed me the freedom to completely be myself and bounce ideas off of her. It’s amazing to have someone actively listen, see me in a successful place and share my excitement in this scary part of my own Adventure story.
We talk about learning to harvest inspiration from every visible, microscopic and invisible seed that has been planted for us but more excitingly, by us OURSELVES. Yes, this does literally include Nature. Which, is in it’s own being is an example of the growth and dormancy that create Beauty and Living. But the seeds that we cannot see are so valuable in finding Motivation & Inspiration. It’s Love and Positive Energies. And knowing that when you are true to yourself and do and Feel what you are, the possibilities are infinite. People, Things and Situations will come into your Story because they are in your same Frequency.
